I will build or perform custom work on your pistol only if it is manufactured in the USA. I prefer not to invest my time and your money into any foreign produced frame or slide. All prices include parts and labor.
Volkmann Custom pistols are delivered in an embroidered range bag with three of our premium magazines. This black range bag can hold two full-sized pistols and 8 magazines with an additional oversized pouch for ammunition.
We can now provide you with a personalized serial number for your Volkmann Custom frame. This custom option will allow you to choose a combination of six alfa or numeric characters to create a one of a kind pistol for collection.

Our high grip cut is simply a notch machined above the front strap and behind the trigger guard. This cut allows the hand to ride higher on the fame for a more secure and controlled grip of the pistol. This can be performed on any of our custom pistols.

The “Safety Cut” is one of the few new and true innovations for the 1911 A1. Unlike other so-called improvements applied to this century old pistol, the “Safety Cut” gives you the mechanical advantage of engaging the safety catch and charging the slide simultaneously. With this enhancement you will never have to disengage the safety to chamber or unload a live round. All other operations are the same.

Our magazines are manufactured to replicate John Browning’s original 7-round design with the addition of a rounded steel follower and extra power magazine spring. These both dramatically improve the reliability of feeding and slide lock back functions. Our steel-bodied mags have welded baseplates with a smooth and presentable appearance. Our magazines are beneficial because we utilize steel instead of plastic for internal components.
Personalized engraving is available on any of our models. Engravings can be applied to the flat areas of the slide only. Engraving can be any suitable name, design or logo. All that is necessary is an art file such as a JPEG, which can be sent through email.
The NP3 finish we offer is perfected and performed by Robar Companies in Arizona, USA. This electroless or autocatalytic plating has the advantages of coating uniformity, corrosion resistance and hardness. It has a unique, yet classic and clean look that will impress the most particular hobbyist and collectors. This is the most durable finish available on our custom pistols.
Rockote is our thermoset ceramic coating designed for military applications. By applying this finish to your firearm, it provides total protection against rust and gives the firearm a beautiful matte finish. Our Rockote has an additional chemical catalyst added to the material before being applied to the gun. After application the individual pistol parts are baked in the oven at a specific temperature and time for maximum durability. They are then removed to cure at room temperature and assembled the following day. Colors include: Black, desert tan, titanium blue and Olive Drab Green.
Your Volkmann custom 1911 can now be deliviered in a custom hard case from Starlight. This durable, airtight, and watertight travel case is also airline safe. The dense foam insert is custom cut to accompany one 1911, 4-8 magazines and extra ammunition. The top foam is made of Starlight's semi-cut hexegon pattern, which makes it easy to personally customize.
